William Howard Phillips went home to Jesus on April 18th, 2020 at the age of 90.
Bill was born to Clinton and Clara Phillips on March 19th, 1930 in Peterstown, WV. He met his wife, Jeanette in school, they married in 1950 and cherished the arrival of David Lee in 1951.
Bill served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean war and retired from C&P Telephone Company (now Verizon) after 37 years. He and Jeanette moved to Orlando, FL in 2018 to be near family.
A former member of First Baptist Church, Shady Spring, WV, he served as deacon, trustee and member of the choir. After moving to Florida, he became a member of the Lock Haven Baptist Church in Orlando. Throughout his entire life he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Bill loved to travel the roads and treasured his adventures in the RV, reaching most States in the US.
Bill joins his parents, Clinton and Clara Phillips, brother Bobby Milo Phillips and sister Dorothy Carol Phillips Martin in Heaven.
He is survived in Orlando by his wife, Jeanette, son David Lee and wife Gillian Claire, and granddaughter Laura Phillips Bogdan and husband Christophor Bogdan. Also, his nephew Mark Thomas Martin in Beckley and cousins in Peterstown area.
A private service will be on Saturday April 25th at Calfee Funeral Home and is limited to family only. Pastor Delvin Elwell will be officiating.
