Wayne Steve Jones

Wayne Steve Jones, 82, of Beckley, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born July 3, 1931 in Adkins, VA, he was the son of the late James Gilbert and Mattie Lee Armstrong Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Joann Jones; brothers, James “Bunk” Jones, Lewis Jones; sisters, Mary Blevins and Patricia Jones.
Wayne was a retired coal miner having retired from Narco. He was a Baptist and a member of the UMWA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Howard D. Crow.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Carol Meadows and husband Kevin of Beckley, grandchildren, Justin Flint of Beckley, Stephanie Boggs and husband Michael of Union, WV; great-grandchildren, Kayla Flint of Beckley, Michael David Boggs and Tori Joann Boggs of Union, WV; sisters, Charlene Sizemore of Beckley, Shirley Belcher of Welch, WV; brothers, Robert Jones and wife Brenda of Oak Hill, WV and Donald Jones and wife Sue of Sarasota, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Kim Kirby officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
