Virginia Y. Rogar Grott

Virginia Y. Rogar Grott, 94, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Greystone Inn in Beaver. Born June 9, 1916 in Riley, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Wardenski Rogar. Mrs. Grott spent part of her life in New Brunswick, NJ. There she worked and was in charge of Sears catalog department. After her retirement she returned to West Virginia in 1984. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley. She was very active in her community, serving on committees, etc., Beckley Shepherd’s Center, BARH Auxiliary and Advisory Council and St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, John Hodas and Thomas Grott, brothers; Walter, John and George Rogar and sister, Margaret Shrodo.
She is survived by sisters; Betty Schilling of Charleston, WV and Violet Meluski of Lanark, WV and a host of nieces and nephews.
As per her request, she will be cremated. There will be a mass at a later date.
