Virginia Mae Lodmell

Virginia Mae “Jenny” Hudson Lodmell, age 100, passed from this world on December 23, 2022. She was born in Beckley, WV on August 17, 1922 to the late Robert and Esthal McGraw Hudson.

Jenny was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a student at Beckley College before joining the U.S. Navy as a WAVE in World War II. Though she was living in Frankfort, KY at the time of her death, she spent most of her life in Piney View, WV. She was active in the Piney View Bible Church and had worked at Montgomery Wards until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son John Lodmell, brothers James, Robert and Charles Hudson and sisters Lillian Hudson White and Evelyn Hudson Elliott.

She is survived by sons James and wife Carol of Millville, KY; Joe and wife Alessandra of Saint Marys, GA; daughter-in law Donita Neff Lodmell of Millville, KY; brother Lawrence and wife Janice of Barnesville, GA; nine grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Piney View Bible Church on Friday, January 6^th at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00. Interment will be at a later date at Calfee Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Piney View Bible Church.
