Timothy Gene Rector

Timothy Gene Rector, 57, of Beckley passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. From a short battle with lung cancer. Born July 2, 1958 in Welch, WV, he was the son of Sue Worley Rector of Beckley and the late Ira Gene Rector.
Tim was a railroad conductor for CSX Transportation. He was a Crab Orchard Baptist Church member for nearly 40 years where he was a member of the choir and praise and worship band. Tim loved singing praises for his Lord and witnessing for Christ in any way he could. He loved golfing in the senior league at Briar Patch Golf Course with his many brothers there; loved and treasured his many CSX brothers of many years.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Dossie Rector and Robert and Susan Worley.
Tim is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lynn Withers Rector; daughters, Adrienne Leigh Berry and Timothy of Beckley, Megan Suzanne Knight and Bryan of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Audrey Elizabeth Berry, Tyler Steven Berry and Emily Elizabeth Berry all of Beckley, Elizabeth McKenzie Knight of Parkersburg; mother, Sue Carol Rector of Beckley; brother, Robert William Rector and wife Michele of Beckley and nieces Abby, Madeleine and Sydney of Beckley.
Service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Crab Orchard Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Sisson and Rev. Scott Dameron officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. A private committal will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Briar Patch Senior League friends.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the Crab Orchard Baptist Church Youth Fund or Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
