Thomas Midkiff, 70, of Prosperity, WV peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, April 18, 2020.
He was born on September 1 ,1949 to the late Arnold and Treva Midkiff of Mabscott, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Linda Haga Midkiff.
Thomas graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1967 and, while he had several jobs, eventually retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. Thomas spent most of his life and weekends trading cars, attending car shows and restoring his 1956 Chevy Nomad Wagon.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Lori Ann Midkiff and Julie Ann Midkiff, both of Prosperity, West Virginia; one niece, Barbara Little, Beckley; and one nephew, James Haga of Prosperity.
Thomas will be remembered as a regular at local car shows and swap meets and will be missed.
Due to the risk presented by COVID 19, Thomas will be laid to rest with his wife at Sunset Memorial Park with only immediate family in attendance. The Reverend Susan Claytor of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will be officiating.
Thomas always appreciated the work of Hospice and the care his wife received in her final days. Because of this sentiment, in lieu of flowers, you may honor Thomas by making a memorial contribution in his name to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
