Shirley Arnold Gray

Shirley Arnold Gray, 77, of Beckley, WV passed away Sunday December 7, 2014 at Select Hospital in Charleston, WV following a short illness. Born September 22, 1937 in Slab Fork, he was the son of the late Lacy and Goldie Gray.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by his brothers Herbert, Henry and James (Jim) and sisters Glida, Lois and Eva.
Left to cherish his memory is his former wife and best friend Emma Newton, sons Arnold Gray and wife Sherry, Alfred Gray and daughter Sherry Bowling and husband Dallas. Grandchildren Michael Gray and wife Alicia, Brandi Gray, Brandon Gray and wife Jill, Trevor Gray, Colton Adkins, Jason Gray, Crystal Gray, Gia Gray, Stanley Sweeney, Johnny Sweeney and wife Ashley, Ashton Sweeney and wife Kaitlin. Great grandchildren Harper and Calla Gray, Hunter, MacKenzie and Kaylee Sweeney, Austin, Dustin and Phoebe Lusk. Brothers William Gray and wife Evelyn, Charlie Gray and wife Margaret, Frank Gray and wife Gatha, John Gray and wife Beverly. Sisters Mary McMillion, and Ruth Sterling and husband Danny.
He was a retired Chief Electrician and Chief Maintenance Man for 30 years in the coal mines. He loved to work on vehicles, spending time with his family and spending time with his most precious buddy “Bandit” his dog.
Funeral services will be 1PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Calfee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Slab Fork Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be left at www.calfeefh.com.
