Sharon Ann Holdren

Sharon Holdren, 55, of Shady Spring passed away at her home following a sudden illness on March 28th, 2016. She was born in Beckley West Virginia and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. Compassion for others colored her very full life as she spent many years working in the field of patient care. She was most recently employed by ResCare, providing services to people with disabilities. Creative and thoughtful, Sharon enjoyed scrap-booking and photography; especially taking photos of - and - with her grandchildren, of whom she was extremely proud. Nothing lit up Sharon's eyes more than when she was telling a story about her 'precious grand-babies'. Quick with a smile and a hug, she was deeply thoughtful. Family and friends remember Sharon always had a unique card, gift, or word to offer on a special occasion, holiday, or birthday and many times 'just because'. Sharon was a true light in this world and could make instant friends with anyone she ever met. She was deeply loved by family as well as her many friends.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her former Spouse, David Holdren; her daughter Angela and her husband Chris Dyer; son David Anthony and his fiance Catherine Smith; daughter Megan and her husband Alex Meadows; grandchildren - who were the light of her life; Christopher Dyer; Christian Dyer; Katherine Dyer; Isaac Holdren; Rieleigh Holdren; Jozee Meadows; Lily Dyer; and Noah Holdren; her siblings; sister Marie and her husband Rusty Thornquest; sister Doris Dodson; brother Bay and his wife Theresa Dodson; brother Edgar Dodson; brother Randy Dodson; brother Gary and his wife Jill Dodson; sister Carla and her husband Jason Amos; brother Ricky Dodson and his wife Norma Massy; sister Phyllis Dodson and her husband Timmy Cooke; brother Robert and his wife Renee Dodson; and a host of dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved Father and Mother Dorcus and Mary Dodson; nephew Allen Dodson; nephew Joey Price; niece Julia Price; cousin Derek Worley; and mother in law Ida Holdren.

Funeral services will be conducted at Calfee Funeral Home 800 S. Oakwood Ave. Beckley, WV on Friday April 1st. The Family will receive friends and well-wishers from 11am-1pm with services promptly at 1pm. Grave side service will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley. Officiating the funeral will be Father Roy Crist and Reverend Ron Lily. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
