Sandra Lenore (Lytton) Horton of Crab Orchard, passed into eternity on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Born May 13, 1938, to the late Henry Earl and Bertha Irene (Roberts) Lytton; Sandra was raised in Tams, WV.
A graduate of Mark Twain High School, Sandra received a secretarial certificate from Beckley College. She was employed by the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, Crab Orchard Baptist Church, and last worked for the WVU Agriculture Extension Service for several years.
Sandra married S. Neil Horton on September 12, 1959, and to their marriage was blessed with three children. Sandra loved being a wife and mother, and took great pride in raising her family and making their house a home. Sandra doted on her family, making sure everyone was well-fed and well-loved. She also cherished being a grandmother, and looked forward to visits with her grandchildren.
Sandra was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church where she was a loyal servant. She served many outreaches and ministries over the years. Sandra was also an artist. She was known for personally delivering beautiful hand-drawn cards to family and friends, as well as fellow church family. As her family says her mission in this world was to serve and feed those around her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Drema (Lytton) Brush.
Left to honor her memory is her husband of 62 years, S. Neil Horton, as well as her sister, Earlene (Lytton) Kincer and brother, James “Jimmie” C. Lytton; her children, Jeffrey A., Lisa A., and Brian N. Horton; and her grandchildren Stone, Trace, Ravyn, Sienna and Talon.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held Saturday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m., at Crab Orchard Baptist Church, 1501 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Crab Orchard, WV, with Pastor David Bush officiating. Friends may call from noon until time of the service.
