Ruth Elizabeth Eye Webb went to be with the Lord peacefully with the loving care of her family on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Born May 8, 1922, in Beckley, she was the oldest daughter of John W. and Gertrude Eye.
Ruth married Melvin Workman and they resided in Bluefield, WV. Returning to Beckley, she worked for the John W. Eye Company. She later met and married Edgar Webb and moved to Redding, CA. She enjoyed golf, archery, hunting and fishing. After Ed’s retirement they bought a ranch in Olathe, CO which they operated for about 20 years growing alfalfa and raising cattle. They returned to Beckley to be close to Ruth’s family.
After Ed’s passing, Ruth remained in town to be with her family.
Ruth loved the Lord. She was a member of Beckley Community United Methodist Church which she attended faithfully.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Melvin and Ed, she was preceded in death by sisters, Neva Broderick, Ina Maples, Gladys Lafferty and Hallie McGinnis.
Ruth is survived by her brother, John Lee Eye and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Beckley Community United Methodist Church, 217 S. Heber St, with Rev. Betsy M. Evans and Pastor Larry Cochran officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank her “Dream Team”, caregivers: Anita, Paula, Jackie, Sherry, Becky and Roxanne as well as her hospice nurses and staff. Many thanks to Michael and April Webb for their caring and comfort.
