Ruby Jean Lowry

Mrs. Ruby Jean Lowry, 82 went home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Village Care of King in North Carolina. Ruby was born March 28, 1933 in Hinton, West Virginia to the late Maude and William Simms. Ruby is preceded in death by her loving husband Henry Lowry and her siblings Harriet Williams, Margaret Simms, James Simms, Bernard Simms, & Billy Simms. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted daughter Tammy Lowry, step daughter Henrietta Lowry Bragg Shroyer, her granddaughters Ashley Myers, and husband Zachary Myers, Kathy Bragg Reder, and husband Andy Reder, and her grandson John Lowry Bragg, and wife Tinna Bragg, great-granddaughters Nicole Bragg, Brittany Bragg, Drew Reder, and Stacey Reder. Ruby was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church. Ruby enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb, so much that people would often stop in front of her home on Maxwell Hill to view her gardens. Ruby was a kind hearted and generous soul. She will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her. Funeral service to be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 12pm in the Calfee Funeral Home chapel in Beckley, West Virginia, Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where she will be reunited with her husband, the love of her life.
