Rose Marie Worley

Rose Marie Worley, 80, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 in a Charleston hospital following a sudden illness. Born November 24, 1930 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Omar O.'Buddy' Kidd and Maude P. “Boots” Polly Mann Kidd McDaniel. Rose was a former plant manager clerk for C&P Telephone Co. with 34 years of service. She was a door greeter at the First United Methodist Church on Heber St. which she attended since she was 4 years old, a 20 year member of degree of Honor Protective Association, 15 year member of the Orchard Valley Women’s Club, She was also a member of Women of the Moose, League of Democratic Women, American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Worley in 1999.
Survivors include her son, Thomas A. Shrewsbury and wife Penny of Kings Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Thomas E. Shrewsbury and wife Angie of Cherryville, NC, Christine M. Shrewsbury and Deanna R. Shrewsbury both of Cleveland, OH, Kathy L. Shrewsbury of Parma, OH; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild,; sisters; Dorothy 'Dottie' Mae McKinney of Beckley, Alice Stover of Hughson, CA and Nancy Coleman of Grants Pass, OR.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Parent and Dr. Bob Stoddard officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Shrewsbury, Thomas A. Shrewsbury, Frank Coulter, Clay Coulter, Jon Voehringer, Lorenzo Harper.
