Ronnie Ray Coleman went on his heavenly trip to be with the Lord on April 8, 2014. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on May 13, 1948 in Kingston, WV. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Ray Coleman of Mossy and his mother, Mabel Lee Chapman of Pax.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Janie Spade Coleman of Daniels; his daughter, Danielle Coleman and companion, Thomas Akers of Crab Orchard; his son, Robbie Coleman and companion, Sarah Rakes of Daniels; his four grandchildren, Brittany Coleman and companion Robbie Phillips of Maple Fork, Kristin Coleman, who lived with her Paw Paw and Nana and Tommy and Bobby Akers of Crab Orchard; one uncle, Buzz Chapman of Youngstown, OH; three aunts, Rosemary Chapman and hazel Bartholomew of West Palm Beach, FL, Ada Chapman and companion Russell Williams of Pax; sister, Charmaine Davis of West Palm Beach, FL; cousins, Gary, Rodger, Donnie, Diane and Charlene Chapman of Youngstown, OH, Belinda Canterbury Count of FL and Sandy Testa of West Palm Beach, FL, whom Ronnie was like a big brother to.
It was common to see Ronnie in his blue van chaperoning a load of giggling cheerleaders and girl basketball players. He was Paw Paw to them all. Later he spent his time with his favorite fishing buddies, his grandsons, Tommy and Bobby. Ronnie was an accomplished art student of Rev. Carl Burrows. He won many awards for his paintings. He was proudest of his painting of a lighthouse inspired by Pastor Mike Gunnoe and his mother, Sue Francisco, who sang the lighthouse song in his favorite place to be, Living Waters Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at Living Waters Baptist Church on Jennings St. off Johnstown Rd. on April 27th at 12:00 p.m.
