Roberta Jean Peak Taylor Elkins, 63, of Beckley, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 following a sudden illness. Born January 27, 1949 at Helen, WV, she was the daughter of Retha Pierce and the late Bruce Peak. Roberta was a floral designer for Kroger. She was a member of the Jones Memorial Baptist Church, a breast cancer supporter and loved to crochet gifts for family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Mickey L. Elkins; sons, David Taylor and wife Roxanne of Pikeville, NC, Scott Taylor and wife Dannette of Middlesex, NC; grandchildren, Eric and Keisha Taylor of Pikeville, NC, Abigail Taylor of Middlesex, NC; brothers, Conley Peak of Fl and Robert Peak of OH; sister, Winifred Acord of Christiansburg, VA and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Metrick officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Doug Vandall, Doug Cipoletti, Gordon Ross, Jimmy Quesenberry, Barry Milam and Curt Edwards; alternates will be David Kirby, Fred Quesenberry, Denny Cook and Paul Horny.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Women’s Bible Study Group from Jones Memorial Baptist Church, Anna Lou Kirby, Karen Bozarth, Jennifer Milam, Betty Metrick, Karen Metrick, Tammy Womack, Melodie Ross, Kathy Quesenberry, Missy Edwards, Ruth Loving, Lois Slygh, Melissa Simmons and Debbie Caplan.
