Robert Winfred Covey, 91, of Sophia, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021.
Born May 13, 1930, at Lester, WV, he was the son of the late Winfred and Amy Thewlis Covey.
Robert was a former plant manager for Acme Construction. He attended the Lester Church of Christ. He loved farming and was a member of the Angus Association. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Alvin Covey and sisters, Elizabeth Covey, Olive Canaday and Edith Waycaster.
Robert is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, Jackie Ray Covey of Shady Spring, WV, Gary Alvin Covey of Sutton, WV; daughter, Terry Cernuto of Sophia, WV; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Covey Cemetery located on the family farm, Sophia, WV, with Pastor Robert Ward officiating.
