Robert Edwin Scarbro

Robert (Bobby) Edwin Scarbro, age 71 of Harper Road, Beckley, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2023.

He was born in Rock Creek, WV on June 2, 1952. Bobby is survived by his soulmate and wife of 47 years, Theresa Scarbro; daughter Bobbie Kay Scarbro Williams of harper Road, Beckley, WV. Bobby had three precious and loving grandchildren, Jason Edward Williams, Casey & Jaden Leann Williams. His sisters, Priscilla Guy Acord (Dean) of Beckley, WV, Suzanne Cordes of Freedom, PA, his brothers, Adrian (Smokey) Jospeh Scarbro (Marion) of Roanoke, VA and Charles Gregory Scarbro (Kim) of Clear Fork, WV, John Edward Scarbro of Roanoke, VA;  brothers and sisters-in-law, Kent & Mellissa Pettry, Billy Joe & Nanette Pettry, Tina Williams, Wendell & Dezell Pettry, John & Leslie Pettry and Tina Scarbro.

He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Adam Scarbro; parents, Lester Edwin and Guy Eula O’Neal Scarbro, fathers-in-law, Charles Pettry and Ronnie Quarles, mother-in-law, Greta Pettry-Quarles; brothers, Arthur Wilson (Pee—Wee) Scarbro, Mark Anthony Scarbro and David Scarbro; sisters, Elizabeth (Libby) Scarbro Jarrell and Rena Scarbro.

Bobby loved his family with all he had. Bobby was a husband and father, retired coal miner, Vietnam veteran. He graduated from Marsh Fork High School and served in the U.S. Army. He loved baseball and the Cincinnati Reds and spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Gospel Lighthouse in Sundial, WV with Rev, Benny Turner and Rev. Charles "Chuck" Pettry officiating. Singers will be Rev. Benny Turner and wife Debbie Turner. Visitation for family will be from 12:00 to 1:00 and for friends and family from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow in the Scarbro Cemetery at Rock Creek, WV.
