Rita Mae Anderson

Mrs. Rita Mae (Lester) Anderson, 74, of Beckley, formerly of Gary, WV, completed her pilgrim journey on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born February 14, 1944 in Havaco, WV, Rita was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Reta Justice Lester. A cosmetologist for 40 years, she worked at Unisex Salon in Welch, and after her relocation to Beckley, at 2001 and Avigayil Hair Salon. Rita enjoyed reading, babysitting her great-granddaughter, baking and truly loved her job and patrons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Taylor Lester, and a sister, Shirley Paulette Lawson.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sherry Lawson Conte and her husband, Louis, of Beckley; grandchildren: Amanda Stroupe Vanhoose of Beckley; Walter Aaron Stroupe of Charleston, WV; Justin Taylor Conte of Beckley; great-granddaughter and the love of her life, Kalei Grace Vanhoose, of Beckley; niece and nephews: Paula Taylor and James Taylor of Hickory, NC, Nathan and Julie Lawson of Bluefield, VA, Mark Anthony Lester of NC and Adam Cox of Greenville SC.

Funeral services will held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley. Friends may call from 11- 1 pm at Calfee Funeral Home.
Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluefield, WV. Pallbearers will be Louis and Justin Conte, Aaron Stroupe, Nathan Lawson, Barry Fowler and James Taylor.
