Richard Lee Cook, 88 of Beaver, formerly of Sprague, Wv passed away.
Born March 31, 1932 in Mead, Wv, he was the son of the late Henry Snowd and Lucy McNulty Cook.
Richard graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951. He was a cable technician for C&P Telephone Co with 32 years of service. He was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church for over 63 years, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years. Richard was a member of the West Virginia Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America, past board chairman and founding member of the Telbec Federal Credit Union, past president of the Crab Orchard Hunting Club and was an avid woodworker.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Freda C. Phipps Cook; son, Richard D. Cook and his wife Karen of Charleston, WV; their daughters, Lauren Alexandra Bullard and husband David and their children Amelia River Bullard and Abigail James Bullard of South Charleston, WV, Erin Elizabeth Cook and Mary Kaitlyn Cook of Alexandria, VA; son, Randall L. Cook and his wife Scherrie of Beckley, WV; their children, Randall J. Cook and wife Jessica of Beckley, WV and Victoria Thomas and husband Justin and their children, Maddison Lynn Thomas and Hadley Rae Thomas of Beckley, WV.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Crab Orchard Baptist Church with Pastor David Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the R.L. Cook Memorial Fund, Crab Orchard Baptist Church, P.O. Box 446, Crab Orchard, WV 25827 in honor of our father’s long service, devotion and affinity to his church home.
