Randy Nelson Kennedy, 65 of Beckley, WV passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his home after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was dearly
loved and will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. He was born July 20, 1953 in Iaeger, WV, the son of the late Virgil and Carolyn Allen Kennedy of
Baileysville, WV. Randy was the grandson of the late Emory and Bertha Kennedy of Coal Mountain, WV, where he made his home for many years. And the late
Lee & Emma Allen of Baileysville, WV. He was also preceded in death by a very special cousin, Bobby Staton, brother in law, Danny Miller, and friend, Tim
Rector.
He is survived by his wife and devoted companion of over 25 years, Melanie Kennedy. Daughters, Kelee Kennedy Trubiano of St Clairsville, OH and Amy &
Michael Thurman of Massillon, OH. Step-children, Miranda Whittington of Chattanooga, TN and Nick Whittington of Dobson, NC. Grandchildren; Holly &
Noah Trubiano and Ashton & Jacob Thurman. Brother, Steve & Marsha Kennedy of Baileysville, WV, Sister, Debbye Miller and children Brandon & Emily of
Charleston, WV. Mother in law, Nancy Bailey of Oceana, WV, brothers and sister in law's; Linda & Richard Morea of NY, Anni & Jim Turner of MD, David
Bailey of FL, Bernard & Lakie Bailey of Oceana, WV, and Alice & Earl Stewart of Matheny, WV. Maternal Aunt Joyce Vance of Baileysville, WV. A host of
nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, coworkers, golf companions, and Brothers & Sisters in Christ. He was truly blessed to have good people in his life.
Randy graduated from Baileysville High School in 1971. He worked in the mining industry for 41 years, retiring in 2012 from Alpha Natural Resources as
Maintenance Manager. He was an avid golfer and very sharp dresser. He liked to look good on and off the course. After retirement, he and Melanie traveled and
had lots of fun. The past few years Randy began baking and he was very good at that too! He truly loved his beautiful daughters, Kelee, Amy & Miranda and was
very proud of the women they had grown up to be. He was a good friend to Nick as well. And loved his smart, talented and good looking grandchildren, always saying the apple didn't fall far from the family tree.
Family will be receiving guests at Calfee Funeral Home on Oakwood Avenue in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, January 8th from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral liturgy will
be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 11am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
