Ralph C. Cook, 92, of Beckley, formerly of Oceana, passed away November 20, 2008 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born April 7, 1916, at Clearfork, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Cook and Martha Massey. He was a member of the Cross Point Church of God in Beckley, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years, Lenna Morgan Cook and his second wife of 10 years, Sarah Roberts Cook and two children Gay Cook and Bonnie Jean Cook along with several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Louise Hall (Ed); Marie Toler (U.J.); Rev. Vondie Cook, Sr. (Jannett); Lola Lamb (Jim); Kay Toler (Earnel); Ray Cook (Mildred); Debbie Cook Hodges; Martha Jane Cook (Scott); and Patty Cook (Herb).
Grand Children: Steve Hall; Treasa Brunty (Vondie); Dr. Ken Toler (Debi); Greg Toler (Sue); Rev. Vondie Cook, II (Teresa); Tammy Toler (Jeff); Dr. James W. Lamb, III (Laura); Angela Bennett (Lee); Jake Cook (Misty); Kim Cline (Acie); Andrea Taylor; Jamie Taylor; Herb Cook, Jr. (Wanda); Dusty Cook; 26 Great Grand Children, and 1 Great Great Grand Child. He is also survived by one sister, Fredia Blankenship.
Services will be Monday November 24, 2008, at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, WV, with family time from noon to 1 PM and friends from 1 PM to 2 PM. Funeral services will be at 2 PM with Rev. Vondie Cook, II, Dr. Ken Toler and Rev. William Wagner officiating. Burial will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great-grandsons serving at pall bearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Point Church of God Building Fund, 2809 Robert C. Byrd Drive Beckley, WV 25801.
