Paul Stuart Williams, 70, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House. Born December 13, 1944 in Beckley he was the son of Wanda Mae Hewlett Williams Hughes of Beckley and the late James Alva Williams. Paul moved to Boston in the 1970s and later to New York where he studied under some of the most influential artists of the time. He was an architect with Donald Stark Architects and designed the new addition to the John W. Eye building. Paul served with the U.S. Army National Guard.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his twin sister, Paula Sue Vernon and husband Richard of Mooresville, NC, sister, Rebecca Kessler of Beckley; nephew, Thomas James “TJ” Kessler of Beckley, nieces, Deb Vernon Queen of Mooresville, NC and Donna Vernon Frailly of Statesville, NC and great-nephew, Derek Queen of Mooresville, NC.
A funeral liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kalapurackal officiating.
