Paul Bond

Mr. Paul Bond of Beckley, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2009. He was 93 years old.
Mr. Bond was born on July 26, 1915, in Glen White, WV, the son of the late Joe and Blanche Meadows Bond. He graduated from Trap Hill High School and attended Charleston Business College.
From 1936 to 1977 he initially managed, and then bought and ran, Lester Service Station and General Store. After his retirement in 1977, he worked as a volunteer with Hope Outreach Center for several years.
Mr. Bond was a long-time member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Greeter for many years.
Mr. Bond will be remembered as a kind and compassionate man, who helped and encouraged many people in his quiet and unassuming way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters, Myrtle Whiteneck and Sylvia Bond, and his brothers, Lowell and Woodrow Bond. He is survived by his wife, Marion Jeanette Bond, and daughter, Paulette Alice Bond, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Beckley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Adrian Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may gather with the family at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Danny Calvert, Bill Hartley, David Trader, John Thomas, Chuck Lucas and Jorn Otte.
