Oscar Samuel Suttle, better known as 'Curley' by his many friends and family, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, August 13 at BARH with his family by his side.
Born in Cashmere, WV, he was the son of the late Sherman and Glenna Copeland Suttle. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis, Freeman, Billy and Kyle Suttle, a sister Leona Lane and by his first grandson Eric James Trump.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Erma Farrish Suttle, his daughter, Kathy Trump (Billy),and his three sons, Sam (Vickie), Ricky (Penny) and Jimmy (Melissa) Suttle, his grandchildren, Amber Willson (Dave), Samantha Suttle, Crista Childers (Ben), Drew Trump, Tyler Trump, Garrett Suttle, Wade Suttle, Luke Suttle, and Katelyn Suttle and great grandchildren Claire and Anna Willson.
He is also survived by his brothers Ivan (Dorothy) and Jackie (Sally) Suttle of Flint, Michigan and sisters Ethelene Canterbury of Red Sulphur Springs and Judy (Willis) Carr of Ballard, WV as well as a large extended family.
'Curley' was an excellent auto mechanic and spent most of his career at Barrack's Auto in Beckley until his retirement. He loved being with his family and enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandsons hunting in Monroe County. He also enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers, farming and playing the guitar.
He was saved and baptized as a young man in Bozoo, WV. He faithfully attended Open Bible Baptist Church as his health permitted.
Services will be Monday August 16 at 1:00 pm at Calfee Funeral Home, with Johnny McGee officiating. He will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Mausoleum. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on the family Sunday August 15 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Calfee Funeral Home.
