Noel Rettas Walton

Noel Rettas Walton, 85, of Beckley passed awayat home surrounded by family, Friday, February 17, 2017. Born February 21, 1931on McKinney Ridge at Slab Fork, WV she was the daughter of the late Kermit and Hazel Martin Horton.
Noel was a 1949 graduate of Trap Hill High School. She worked as a Black Lung Advocate for Raleigh County Community Action. She served as Recorder for the town of Lester and president of the Slab Fork Cemetery Association. Noel was a member of the Enon Primitive Baptist Church. She loved flowers of all kinds. Favorite hobby was gardening and flower gardening. She loved dirt. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids
Survivors include her husband James Walton; children, Sherman Dean Snuffer (Billie Whitt) of Mt. Airy, NC, Richard Snuffer (Min) of Newark, DE, Pamela Jean Davis (Buford) of Daniels, WV, John Snuffer (Sherry) of Lester, WV, Jane Langston (Kieth) of Piqua, OH; step children, Debra Walton, James Russell Walton, Jr., Terry Walton; grandchildren, Renee, Amanda, Tyler, Sarah, John Michael, Brian; step grandchildren, Pan, Ding, Max, Kevin, Chelsie; 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 7 step great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Horton (Frances), Delford “Bo” Horton (Gertie).
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Libby Bailey.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Joe Blevins and Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Horton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 Tuesday and one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
