Nancy Carol Miller

Nancy Carol Miller, 62, of Lester, went home to Heaven on may 17, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 30, 1946 she was the daughter of Nina Cook of Helen and the late Garland Cook. She was employed for seventeen years as an LPN at Heartland of Beckley. She attended Helen Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, L.C. Miller, Jr. of Lester, three daughters; Lisa Short and her husband Ron Short of Lester, Lori Severt and her husband Jackie Severt of Martinsville, VA, Sherri Cox and her husband Doug Cox of Lester, four grandsons and four granddaughters. She was expecting her first great-grandchild in November, two sisters; Karen Bowers and husband Frank of Helen and Martie Moore and husband Donald of Helen.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Gilbert Dodson and Rev. Danny Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Severt, Ron Short, Trey Severt, Doug Cox, Evan Cox, Aaron Cox, John Vistos, Mac Bowman, Tristan Crookshanks.
