Murriel (Pete) Garner Boblett

Murriel (Pete) Garner Boblett, age 84 of Beckley, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior and loving wife on April 23, 2023 at Bowers Hospice House. He was born July 9, 1938 in Raleigh County, WV, to his late parents, Henry Wayman, and Lola Frances (Hutchens) Boblett.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Meredith Genevieve Boblett of 61 years; five brothers, Tom, Ronce, Kenneth, Jimmy and Bobby; four sisters, Ruby, Cathleen, Christine and Vera.

Pete was a loving, hard-working, devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

As a young man, he started his trade as a Brick Mason. With experience, he then became an Architectural Inspector with Zando, Martin and Milstead. He founded Boblett Construction Company that later became Boblett Corporation, which he operated until he retired.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, vacationing, camping and family reunions. He was an avid, outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, golf and being outdoors mowing his lawn.

He was a member of the Cranberry Baptist Church where he taught adult Sunday school class for many years. He was a member of the Gideons and would distribute Bibles and teach in many churches the mission of spreading the gospel.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Mark Boblett and companion Patti; daughters, Joyce Bundy and husband Bobby, Kim Smyth and husband John and Anita Boblett Cox; six grandchildren, Ana Metaxas, C. Michael Metaxas, Robert Garner Bundy, Miranda Pace, Adrienne Boblett and Brittany Adiutori; three great grandchildren, Marek Pace, Andreas Metaxas, Vivian Marshall and baby girl Adiutori on the way.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2023 In the Calfee Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Roger Fox officiating. Special Speaker, Pastor Roger Pauley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be C. Michael Metaxas, Robert Garner Bundy, Garrett Pace, Joe Adiutori’, Tim Snyder,  Ronnie Campbell.
