Maxine J. Shaffer

Maxine Shaffer, 75, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nannie) and great grandmother and will truly be missed by all.

Born June 26, 1941 in Beaver, WV, she was the daughter of the late Maxwell L. and Josie Massie Allen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Smith along with Willis, Furman and Jessie Walker and Geniva Ware.

Maxine has been a faithful member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church for over 30 years and loved her church family dearly. One of her favorite verses from the Bible was Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Shaffer; daughter Vickie Brammer and her husband Dean; sons, Jeff Shaffer and his wife Pat and David Shaffer; sisters, Jerrilyn Bosick and her husband Tom and Yvonne Ballard; half brother, Doug Bryant; grandchildren, Gabrielle Shaffer, Garrett Shaffer, Kacey Holland and her husband Kenneth and Kelli Scammell and her husband Anthony; great granddaughter, Harper Holland along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Calloway Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 26 at the church and one hour prior to the service Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Don Riffe, Marvin Alfrey, Dale Walker, Garrett Shaffer, Dennis Perry and Ron Lombardo.
