Born April 3, 1913 in Mabscott, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Roxie Ann Mann. She attended school in Mabscott and later married Omar Kidd. On July 17, 1935, she married Gilmer “Corbett” Stover, who died September 15, 1973. The family relocated from West Virginia to west Texas, Wyoming, California and finally in 1963 to Grants pass, where they enjoyed a small garden, travel and ample time with family and friends.
After her husband’s death, which occurred while visiting West Virginia, Maude chose to stay in West Virginia. There she renewed her relationship with a childhood friend, James Edward McDaniel, whom she married on December 7, 1979. He died in 1983. She returned to Grants Pass in 2002.
Maude had a lifelong passion for dancing, card games and family. She loved nature, animals, God and her children, whom she was very proud.
Survivors include her three daughters, Rose Worley of Beckley, Nancy C. Coleman of Grants Pass, OR and Alice Stover of Hughson, CA; step-son, James McDaniel of Durham, NC; step-daughter, Carol Vandall of Michigan; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. A son, Damon Stover, preceded her in death.
