Mary K. Clark Baird of Fitzpatrick Road, Beckley, West Virginia died September 2, 2018 following a long illness.
Born February 1, 1926 at Daniels, WV she was the daughter of the late Mark and Lucinda Clark. She was the wife of Frank J. Baird.
Mrs. Baird spent most of her life in Raleigh Co. She attended Shady Springs High School. She worked 30 years as a licensed practical nurse. Sixteen years at Beckley Appalachian Hospital and 12 years as a nurse for Dr. A.M. Behnam at Beckley Medical Arts.
She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church for over 60 years, Fellowship Sunday School Class. She will be remembered as a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very fond of all of her grandchildren.
She was the last of 12 children of Mark and Lucinda Clark, preceded in death by brothers Demsie Clark, Fred Clark, Cyrus Clark, Carl Clark, Frank Clark and Vergil Clark. As well as sisters Minnie Clark, Mae Poteet, Cora Blevins, Wanda Causey and Ruie Ramsey.
She is survived by one son, Frank Richard Baird and wife Erma of Winfield, WV, grandson Frank Jeffrey Baird, granddaughter Jennifer Lee Townsend and husband Robert Todd Townsend, great-grandchildren Lee Ann Townsend, Mary Beth Saunders, husband David Saunders, and Richard Ashton Baird as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Saturday September the 8th. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-11:45 AM, with services at Noon. Burial will be after the service at Sunset Memorial Park, Harper Road, Beckley, WV.
Pallbearers will be Larry Clark, David Clark, Gary Cooper, Todd Townsend, Mike Holliday, George Soltes, Harold Radford, Jeff Baird.
