She was born on July 3, 1915 in Edmond, WV and was the daughter of the late Daniel Fredrick and Nettie Mae Ashley Holiday. She was a 1934 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and was a long time member of the United Methodist Temple in Beckley and an active member of the United Methodist Women. Mary was a former member of the Beckley Garden Club and a lifetime member of the Black Diamond Girl Scouts Council to which she devoted a large part of her life. Mary was a wonderful person and had a lively spirit and a great sense of humor. She was committed to her family and her faith. She was a friend to all she met and will be sadly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Larrick; sister Mildred Rebecca Roles of Beckley; her brothers John Ashley Holiday of Charles Town, WV and Daniel Duval Holiday of Melbourne, FL.
