Mary Elsie Kirby

Mary Elsie Kirby, 72, of Beckley passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House. Born September 28, 1942 at Jesse, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Sylvia DeMarsh Allen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, David Mitchem and 6 brothers and sisters.
Elsie was retired from G.C Murphy. She loved playing Bingo and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, James Kirby; sons, Matthew Mitchem and wife Rhonda of Princeton, WV and Mark Mitchem and wife Sherri of Spanishburg, WV; brother, Tom Allen of Crown City, OH; sisters, Pat Brown of Niagara Falls, NY, Gladys Callicoate of Huntington, WV; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Missy Mitchem Lilly and very best friend, Ruth Sterling.
A committal service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B with Pastor Fred Lovell officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
