Marvin R. Teel

Marvin Ray Teel, 74, of Beckley, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018.
Born December 17, 1943 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Luther and Vivian Bronson Teel. Marvin was a teacher for the Raleigh County Board of Education. He served as a Lt. with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Ennis Teel.
Marvin is survived by his daughter Alicia Johnston and husband J.R. and their children, Timothy and Sophie Johnston of Franklin, VA ; brother, Roy Teel and wife Mary of San Diego, CA; cousins, Richard Rhodes and wife Drema and Bill Lee.
Services will be 1 pm Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Calfee Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 37527 Seacock Chapel Rd, Zuni, VA 23898.
