Marvin George Bostick

Marvin George Bostick, 71, of Beckley, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at Bowers Hospice House. Born July 15, 1939 at Sprague, WV, he was the son of the late Herman and Mattie Pittman Bostick. Marvin was retired from the maintenance department of the Raleigh County Board of Education. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and working on his old home place. He was proud of the work he did on his church, New Beginnings Seventh Day Adventist Church. Besides his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Bostick.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Angeline Jones Bostick, daughters; Marcia Morgan and her husband Fred of Columbia, MD, Nora Miles and her husband Lee of Forest, VA, grandchildren; Wesley Morgan, Paige Morgan, Nathan Miles and Luke Miles, twin brother, Melvin Bostick and wife Janice of Grafton, OH, sister, Betty Williams and husband Dan of Grafton, OH, sisters-in-law; Jean Bostick of Mt. Vernon, OH, Frances Martin of Ravenna, OH, Carolyn Sue Jones of Kent, OH, brother-in-law, Charles Joseph Jones of Spencer, WV and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronald Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Thursday.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
