After a brave four month battle with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer, Linda is currently making footprints on heaven’s beaches. Linda Gay Midkiff, 59, of Beckley, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House. Born May 4, 1951, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Cleo and Katherine Hagerman Haga. Linda was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Beckley. She was employed as a Kindergarten Teachers Aide at Stanaford Elementary School. She was a life-time resident of Beckley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim R. Haga and sister, Sandra Kay Haga.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Morris Midkiff; two daughters, Lori Midkiff and Julie Midkiff both of Beckley; one niece, Barbara Little, Beckley; and one nephew, James Haga of Prosperity, WV.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beckley, with Rev. Chris Thompson and Rev. Adeeb Khalil officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February, 20, 2011 at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 South Oakwood Avenue, Beckley, WV.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Linda to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 or St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 200 Virginia Street, Beckley, WV 25801.
