Leslie Ray Lilly, 73 of Coal City, WV peacefully entered into the Gates of Heaven on February 4, 2022.
Born January 10, 1949, in Sullivan, WV, to the late Aubrey Q. Lilly and Wanda Bragg Lilly Coleman. After graduating WWHS in 1966, he went on to serve two tours in Vietnam as a door gunner and helicopter mechanic, where he received many medals and commendations for his bravery. He worked as a mechanic for many years before retiring as heavy machine mechanic from Vecellio and Grogan at the age of 62.
In addition to parents Les was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis E. Lilly, James A Lilly, Howard N. Lilly, and Carlos D. Lilly; by sisters Audrey Q. Lilly Cox, Opal Burst, Bonnie Johnson, and Debra L. Coleman Rife; brother-in-laws, Arnold Lusk and Wayne Riddle; sister-in-laws, Gail Lilly, Rusty Riddle Lilly and Mitzy Perkins; along with several nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son Leslie R. Lilly II of Coal City, his daughters Andrea Hopkins (Ron) and Sharon Cornett (Chuck) both of Beckley, grandchildren Haley Morris (Jeff), Heath Green, Madison and Dylan Cornett, mother of his children Connie S. Lilly, brother Tom Lilly (Janet), sisters Loretta Lusk and Brenda Grahonya (Jimmy) and many special nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Weirwood Chruch, 86 Willis Branch Loop, Pax, WV on February 8, 2022 at 12 pm, visitation for family and friends from 11-12, with his brother Tom Lilly officiating. A private burial will follow at Hot Coal Cemetery.
