Larry Ray Runion, 65, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House surrounded by his family. Born February 2, 1947 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Russell Ray and Nina Louise Anderson Runion. Larry was a custodian at Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School. He was a former mechanic and loved working on cars and spending time with his family. He was a Sgt. In the U.S. Army serving in Germany and Vietnam. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John D. and Daisy Lamb Runion and McKinney and Ollie Bunice Buckland Anderson.
Survivors include his fianc, Mary Thomas of Beckley; sisters, Kathy Miller and husband Dennis of Daniels and Connie Miller and husband Virgil of MacArthur; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as a host of cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Day officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Miller, Virgil Miller, Dewayne Rutherford, Kenneth Sizemore, Ricky Runion and Jeff Runion.
