Larry David Cunningham, Sr.

Larry David Cunningham Sr., 74, of Coal City WV, was finally reunited with his loving wife Diana in heaven on May 7, 2023.

Born May 2, 1949, Larry was the middle child of Holroyd “Jack” and Anola Cunningham of Farley Hill, West Virginia.

As a young man Larry worked as a mechanic, coal miner, carpenter, and impressively, as a self educated man, an entrepreneur, starting and running three family businesses.

Larry’s greatest accomplishment and point of pride in his life was being a devoted husband to Diana for 56 years and together raising their four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Larry enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.  He was an avid supporter of the local community youth sports leagues through his donations, sponsorships and volunteering. But Larry’s greatest joy was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and play sports. He will be greatly missed by many for his sharp wit, his caring soul, and joking personality.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Norma and husband Raymond “Dale” Williams Sr, of Epperly Hill, Amanda Cunningham and husband Josh Christian, of South Carolina, Larry, Jr and wife Misty Cunningham, of Coal City, and Matt and wife Jenny Cunningham, of Epperly Hill. His grandchildren Raymond, Jr and wife Lindsey Williams, Dakota Williams and fiancé Brittany Coulter, Miranda Cunningham, Roy and wife Mahala Cunningham, Chance Cunningham, Cole Cunningham, Chloe Cunningham, and Damien Cunningham. Great-grandchildren Panelope, Jonathan, Dolly, Lewin, Jackson, Julian, Journee, and Arianna.

Larry will have a small private service with family on Monday, May 15, 2023, with eulogy given by John Kuhn. Larry will be laid to his eternal rest alongside Diana at Sunset Memorial Mausoleum.
