Larry Bruce Raines

Larry Bruce Raines, 77, of Beckley passed away at the Bowers Hospice House on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Born October 1, 1943 in Montcalm, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur Lee and Mabel White Raines.
Larry was a former assistant Vice President, retiring from First Community Bank and Chase Bank. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War receiving the Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts. He served on the Mabscott City Council for twenty-five years. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and served faithfully in various positions for 38 years..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Eric Brandon Raines and Butch Raines and brothers, Bob and Jerry Raines.
Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandy; children, Miranda Stutler (Tim) of Princeton, Jeff Raines of Harrisburg, NC Jamie Sawyers (Doug) of Buckhannon, WV, Lindsay Bowers (Stephen) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Santana Bailey, Brandon Raines, Chad Raines, Chase Raines, Hunter Sawyers, Katie Bowers, Erin Bowers, Anna Bowers, Owen Bowers; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Buddy Raines (Judy ) of Princeton, WV; sister, Rose Ann Goddard of Bluefield, VA as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Pastor Michael King officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Doug Sawyer, Hunter Sawyer, Stephen Bowers, Dean Goddard, Pat Fahey and Chris Roberts.
In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, those attending the services are asked to wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 262 Mt. Tabor Rd., Beckley, WV 25801, or Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
