.Karen Sue Benton, 59, of Beckley passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Bowers Hospice House.
Born May 9, 1955 at Stanaford, WV, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Ila Fisher Hamons.
Karen was a caregiver. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed crafts and making cards and clothes. She loved to work with the church and see others come to know Jesus as their Savior.
Karen is survived by her husband, Jeff; son, Thomas Blackwell of Flipping, AR; daughter, Cindy Cameron of Gulfport, MS; grandchildren, Laura and T.J. Blackwell, Micah Cameron; sisters, Grey Moye of Lost Creek, WV and Gloria Worly of Wheeling, WV; brothers, Joe Hammons of Beckley and Bruce Hamons of Charleston.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Memorial Baptist Church, 1451 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Dr. James Boyd officiating.
