Julius Nagy

Julius Nagy, 91, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Julius was born on April 4, 1933, in Helen, WV to Frank and Rosie Nagy.  He lived most of his adult life in Beckley, WV and worshipped at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church having moved in recent years to North Carolina to be near family.   

Julius was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served his country in the Korean War. He worked at BJW Printers for many years before he retired.  Julius was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and bow hunting.  He also enjoyed building and flying remote-controlled airplanes and was a member of the Beckley Model Airplane Club.  

Julius is survived by his three children and six grandchildren: David Nagy (Suzanna) of Willow Spring, NC and their two children Joseph and Jonathan, Dan Nagy (Julie) of Holly Springs, NC and their two children Jenna and Justin and his daughter, Rosemary Trussell (Steve) of Bowling Green, KY and their two children Savannah and William.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.  

In addition to his parents, Julius was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Agnes Nagy (Peelish), sister, Helen Giompalo (Nagy), and his brother Jimmy Nagy.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 14^th at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Beckley WV.  Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 am, also at the church.

Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery of Sunset Memorial Park.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
