Juanita Spanbauer, 85, a resident of the Villages of Greystone, formerly of Crab Orchard passed away in her sleep Friday, April 7, 2017. Born January 24, 1932 in she was the daughter of the late Roby F. and Vedia Underwood Blevins.She was preceded in death by her husband Roderick Spanbauer.
Juanita was the loving mother of her only child, Paul Spanbauer and wife Jackie of Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Shorty” Blevins of Crab Orchard and Norman Blevins of Michigan. She is survived by special nieces Connie J. Hudson of Shady Spring and Carolyn “Susie” Honrado of Beckley, also niece Kathy Bruce and nephews Roby Blevins of Michigan, Eddie Blevins of Crab Orchard.
Juanita was an avid dog lover, especially her grandpugs, Gidget and Tubby. She was of the Christian faith. She loved to play bingo with her friends at Greystone. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and painting. She loved going to the beauty shop at Wildwood House and getting her hair done by niece Susie. She made some special friends there.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Charlotte Poole officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
