Joyce Maxine Massing

Joyce Maxine Evans Massing, 87, of Beckley passed Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House. Born October 12, 1927 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late H. H. and Trusbie Bare Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Harmon Evans, Jr. and sisters, Laura Mae Welch and Peggy Ann Roush.
Maxine was a retired service representative for C&P Telephone Co. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. She loved to sew in her spare time.
She is survived by her husband, George Massing, Jr.; daughter, Linda Martin and her husband John of Pittsburgh, PA; son, James Massing and wife Alice of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Christopher Martin, Andy Martin, Timothy Massing, Thomas Massing and Hannah Massing Johnson; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew, Tyler and Ethan Martin.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial gardens. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church, P.O. Box 5556, Beckley, WV 25801 or to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801
