Joseph Lawrence Gallagher

Joseph Lawrence Gallagher, 54, beloved son and brother, of Flat Top Lake passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013. Born April 17, 1959 in Beckley, he was the son of Doris Alma Martin Gallagher of Flat Top Lake and the late Vincent O’Connell Gallagher.
Joseph was formerly employed by the Cotter Corporation at Schwartzwalder Mine in Golden, CO. He also worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Beckley and Excel Home Builders. Joseph was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Beckley. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
In addition to his mother he is survived by brothers, Vincent Gallagher of Beckley, Michael Gallagher and wife Nancy of Barboursville, WV; sisters, Rita Gallagher of Scott Depot, WV, Martha Baker and husband Wayne of Beckley; nieces and nephews, Andrew, Daniel, Thomas, Antonio, Mandy, Phillip, Anne, Adell; great nieces and nephews, Michael, Violet, Caleb, Hattie; his best friend, a golden retriever named Sadie and numerous friends.
A funeral liturgy will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel Sacus officiating. A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Calfee Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. led by Rev. Mr. Don Wise.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Jones, Daniel Jones, Thomas Jones, Antonio Jones, Phillip Baker and Larry Lilly.
