Joseph Edward Peplowski, 89 of Beckley, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Born May 2, 1927 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander and Bernice Zaloga Peplowski. Joe worked for over 30 years at Leisure Lanes, formerly Bowl Wick at an AMF mechanic. He served with the Army Corp of Engineers 1428 Float Bridge Company. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, Council 5657.
Survivors include his children, Mary Ann Peplowski of Beckley, Joseph and Janice Peplowski of Nimitz, Joanne Peplowski of Beckley, John and Kathy Peplowski of Grandview, Walter Peplowski of Beckley, Beth Peplowski of Beckley; grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Peplowski of Lewsiburg, Philip Peplowski of Grandview, Katie Peplowski of Nimitz; great-grandchildren Payton, Jocelyn, Adeline, Charlotte; brother, Edward Peplowski of NY, sister, Alice and George Houser of Albany, NY and numerous other family members.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Peplowski; a sister, Sophie Calka and brothers, Zigmund, Stanley, Anthony, Walter and Charles.
A rite of committal will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Paul Wharton, V.F. officiating. A rite of committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Home where a scripture prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern WV, Knights of Columbus # 5657, Perry United Methodist Church or Shepherd’s Table
