Jess Houston Lowery, 65, of Beckley, WV formerly of Shady Spring, passed away in the presence of his family on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the VA Medical Center due to congestive heart failure.
Born October 7, 1952 in Beckley, WV to William John Lowery, Sr. and Laura Bernice Ransom Lowery, Jess was a veteran of the US Air Force, former owner of Lowery Electric, a master electrician and a master builder.
Other than his parents Jess was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jess and Ann Peral Lowry and maternal grandparents, William and Rhoda Ransom.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert Houston Lowery (Kara), James Eric Lowery (Nikki); 4 grandchildren, Colton Lowery, Jim, Kaitlyn and Krista Polly; brother, William Lowery, Sr. (Nancy) of Chesterfield, VA; two sisters, Linda Lowery Moore and Anette Irvin (Dave) of Shady Spring, WV; many nieces, nephews and friends. Also his best friends, John Smith, Arland Griffith, James Richmond, Alan Rich, Jerry Vaught, his ex-wife Patsy Shrewsbury and his dog and loyal companion Rocky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2 pm at the Open Door Church, Shady Spring, WV.
