Janice Hope Dunlap

Janice Hope Dunlap, 89, of Crab Orchard, passed away in her sleep Friday, 11 May 2018.
Hope was born to the late William Monroe and Ocal Elizabeth Canady Horton on 16 July 1928 in Crab Orchard, WV. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High school in 1946. She worked as a clerk at Cohen Drugstore in Beckley, and at Crab Orchard Elementary and the past 24 years as a pharmacy technician at Crab Orchard Pharmacy.
Hope was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Henson Dunlap in 2012; brother, William Virgil Horton; sister, Helen Horton Shumate and sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Meakin Horton and Mary Ann Knox Horton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dr Stephanie Hope Dunlap of Augusta, Georgia, son, Stephen Eric Dunlap and his wife Amy Crawford of Haw River, NC, sister, Lila Lee (Allan) Hill of Crab Orchard and brothers, Sherman Neil (Sandra) Horton of Crab Orchard and Donald Edward Horton of Eads, TN; brother and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jo Ann Dunlap of Dunbar, WV, Mrs. Patty Dunlap of St. Albans, WV and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Crab Orchard Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Sisson officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Crab Orchard Church Choir, P.O. Box 446, Crab Orchard, WV 25827 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place
