James Dallas Floyd

James Dallas Floyd, of Bradley, WV , passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 97. Born on September 30, 1925, he was the  son of the late Eugene and Dora Wilson Floyd.

Throughout his life, James dedicated himself to his work as a contractor and made numerous contributions to his field. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene.

Among his many passions, James had a deep appreciation for nature and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He possessed a remarkable talent for nurturing plants and took great pleasure in tending to his garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and had a gift for storytelling that captivated those around him.

James was predeceased by his loving wife Bonnie and their sons, James and Danny. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Mabel Persinger, Pauline Rand, Virginia Apperti, Marjorie Crowder, Frances Hooker, Robert, Russell, and Jack.

He is survived by his daughters Nancy Holmes of Princeton, WV and Ellen Holliday (Robert) of Forest Hill, WV; sons Larry Floyd of Bradley, WV and Terry Floyd (Pati) of Akron, OH. James leaves behind a legacy through his nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories with him.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 12th at 11:30 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pastor Vondie Cook will officiate the ceremony. Prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., friends may visit with the family at Calfee Funeral Home.
