James Eldon Cantrell, II

James Eldon Cantrell, II, 57, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011. Born January 18, 1954 in Beckley, he was the son of the late James Eldon and Mildred Margaret Weeks Cantrell. James was a communication specialist in Regional Command at Raleigh General Hospital, a paramedic for more than 30 years currently serving with the Princeton Rescue Squad and a ham radio operator.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Jennifer Lynn Cantrell and Emily Marie Cantrell both of Beckley, son, James Robert Cantrell and wife Lindsey of Coal City, the mother of his children, Pam Shumate of Branchland, WV, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his co-workers at Raleigh General Hospital and Princeton Rescue Squad.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vondie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
Members of Princeton Rescue Squad will serve as pallbearers.
