Irene Snow Williams, 82, passed away in her home in Beckley on October 31, 2009, following a long illness and under the care of Hospice of Southern West Virginia. Born in Mabscott, she was the daughter of the late George W. Williams, Sr., and Fleda Snow Doss Williams, and sister to the late George W. Williams, Jr. Surviving family includes her niece, Pamela Williams Voight of Tampa, Florida, and her nephew, George Waybright of Fairmount, Georgia. Irene graduated from Woodrow Wilson in 1945. She worked as a secretary for Minter Fuel Company for 25 years and then began to work for Kennedy, Thornhill and Vaughan and its successor firms beginning in 1971 until she retired in 2000. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Chapel of Faith. There will be no visitation.
