Ireland B. Trent

Ireland B. Trent, 82, of MacArthur, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. Born March 25, 1932 in Iaeger, WV he was the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Cline Trent. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Marshall.

Ireland was a coal miner having worked for Peabody Coal. He attended Sophia Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the gospel group, Shape Note Singers.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Lane Moorefield Trent; daughter, Jennifer Pickron of Charlotte, NC; son, Steve Trent and his wife Carla of Concord, OH; daughter, Vicki Burgess and her husband Danny of Beaver, WV; grandchildren, Trent Ehler and his wife Danielle of Aberdeen, SD, Blake Ehler and his fiance’ Kristin of Jacksonville, FL, Samantha Pickron and Brock Pickron both of Charlotte, NC, Justin Trent, Josh Trent, Chad Trent of Concord, OH, Danielle Burgess of Beaver and Kaitlyn Withrow and her husband Luke of Beaver; sister, Verna Carver of Bluefield; brother Bernis Trent of Iaeger, WV and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Carter officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday prior to the service. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Don Kelly officiating the committal service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
